Bodmin jail is a Victorian prison which has held thousands of prisoners in its time and closed in 1923. The building has recently gone through an extensive refurbishment and now offers a unique experience in a grade II listed building, incorporating state of the art technology, which showcases the building’s and Cornwall’s outstanding heritage, and a luxurious boutique hotel and varied F&B options. The Role

As the Sales Manager, you will spearhead revenue growth by implementing proactive sales and marketing strategies, cultivating and sustaining client relationships, and identifying opportunities to maximize visitor numbers and revenue in alignment with the attraction's strategic objectives. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the attraction's financial success while providing an unforgettable and exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities include

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, travel agencies, and other potential sources of business
  • Identify opportunities to maximise visitor rates and revenue by analysing market trends, competitor strategies, and the attraction's unique selling points
  • Establish and grow an exemplary relationship with schools/groups to ensure that the attraction is positioned as the place to visit for heritage, history and curriculum focused
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional campaigns, special packages, and events to attract new customers and retain existing ones
  • Prepare and present proposals to clients, negotiate contracts, and secure new business
  • Generate regular sales reports and forecasts, providing management with insights on sales performance and areas for improvement

  • Experience in the sales within the hospitality & tourism industry
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of achieving goal & targets
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key partners
