THE OPPORTUNITY

TechInsights’ Microprocessor Report is an industry leading publication providing deep analysis of processors and other related integrated components to engineering and product development clients in the semiconductor industry. Microprocessor Report’s covers all types of processors, including CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, DSPs, MCUs and FPGAs. Also covered are the fundamental technology trends affecting processors, such as fabrication processes and packaging, memory technologies, and architectural trends.

The TechInsights Microprocessor Report Analyst will use their industry experience to provide expert analysis on processors, including SoC architectural and design details, performance and power, positioning of products within a company’s portfolio, and broader market positioning. They will also be able to provide insight on the technology trends driving the market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and interviews, gathering data, and analyzing new processors. They will be able to provide higher-level insight into design trends and company strategy to contextualize new product launches and how they might impact the market. The insights and recommendations will play a crucial role informing and guiding TechInsights’ customers in this rapidly evolving market.

The Microprocessor Report Analyst will be required to collaborate with cross-functional teams in both the Technical Analysis and Market Analysis Business Units. Additionally, the role will be required to work with product management, product marketing management, and sales to continue the evolution of TechInsights’ technical analysis on semiconductors.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Insights and writing

Research, write, and refine technical articles for the Microprocessor Report. The expected level of output is between 1 and 2 articles per week. Share expertise through content review and feedback to other analysts and providing industry perspective and knowledge to other internal teams. Be able to assimilate and incorporate feedback from a range of analysts and experts during the content review process. Engage product management and product marketing across business units to provide useful and provocative perspectives on product direction and messaging. Market Research and Trend Analysis Continue to develop a deeper expertise through interactions with vendors, customers, and attending industry events. Provide strategic leadership through continuously observing the external landscape for opportunities to further develop technical analysis and competitive intelligence products. Create Market Impact Develop a credible internal and external brand to become recognized as a subject matter expert. Participate in client meetings, webinars, seminars, and external events/conferences to strengthen TechInsights presence and reputation in the market. Take a role in developing new ways to present our research to clients. WHO YOU ARE Degree in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent experience in the microelectronics industry A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in electronics, semiconductors, or subsystems Specifically, technical expertise in processors Technical and marketing knowledge of one or more of the following areas:o PC/server CPUso Smartphone processors (including wireless subsystems)o Automotive processors (e.g., ADAS, autonomous driving)o Embedded processors (e.g., infrastructure, consumer electronics, IoT) Strong writing and communications skills Ability to produce well-structured, grammatical, and easy-to-understand documents Strong technical accuracy and attention to detail Demonstrated an ability to use both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methodologies to provide insights Ability to think critically recognizing underlying issues and implications of technical decisions Capacity and desire to network, build contacts, and connections Ability to effectively work independently and consistently meet deadlines Ability to work closely and virtually across business units and geographies.
