Job summary

This post will be full time Monday - Friday.

This post will be based at Wansbeck General Hospital but the post holder may be required to work at other sites within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

To provide a full secretarial service to the Upper GI Consultants and wider clinical Teams. The successful candidate will provide transcription, administrative and secretarial support service to the team. The post holder must be able to use own initiative, work under pressure, keep to strict deadlines and have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of IT packages and their applications is essential. Support on the use of the G2 software package will be provided within the surgical directorate. ECDL and knowledge of PAS and previous experience of working within the healthcare environment would be desirable.

Qualifications

Essential

Typing Qualifications and/or equivalent or relevant typing/word processing experience. NVQ Level 3 in Business admin or Customer Care or equivalent experience.

Desirable

GCSE English Language grade C or above or equivalent qualification. AMSPAR Diploma (or equivalent experience). Knowledge of Medical Terminology & procedures.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

Audio typing skills.
