Weare expanding and developing our Wellbeing Service and are seeking to recruit askilled Occupational Therapist to support with this.

Main duties of the job

You willbe working with patients and carers with highly complex emotional and physicalneeds, providing therapeutic conversations and planning services tailored tothe individual needs of our patients and their families.

You willlead on the development of our reablement programme (Spring) aimed atsupporting maintenance of wellbeing and meaningful occupation.

Reportingto the Wellbeing manager, you will develop individualised programmes, withoutcome measures that evidence the therapeutic benefit of occupational therapyworking with our volunteers and wider therapeutic team.

Ideally,you will have knowledge and skills in supporting people with dementia and theirfamilies and/or palliative care experience that you will be able to utilisewithin this position.

You willbe a qualified occupational therapist with a minimum of 3 years postregistration and experience in palliative care/dementia.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Occupational Therapy degree qualification Registration with the Health Care Professionals Council Over 3 years post registration experience At least 1 years' experience working with people with life limiting conditions Experience of developing services Experience of teaching in informal settings to patients, carers and healthcare professionals Ability to support other team members and to facilitate their understanding of the contribution of occupational therapy Ability to facilitate supporting individuals and groups over various formats Supervise and motivate volunteers Critically analyse and reflect on practice In depth of understanding of Palliative Care Occupational Therapy Awareness of current issues in Palliative Care Occupational Therapy Maintains professional standards own and others Practices with integrity Ability to recognise and manage personal stress Proactive in supporting colleagues Able to act as patients advocate Hardworking and a team player

Desirable

Membership of the College of Occupational Therapists specialist section Teaching and assessing qualification Experience of supervising occupational therapy students Experience of designing and facilitating a group work programme Evidence of recent palliative care study Experience in working with people with dementia and their families.
