Job summary

The role will beprimarily front facing covering the reception desks, answering inboundtelephone calls and a variety of administrative duties.

Main duties of the job

The role varies on a rota pattern to support inbound calls to the Practice, greeting patients on reception and answering queries, and administrative duties which include arranging appointments, contacting patients by phone and email, and basic paperwork.

You will need to have sound administrative and communication skills, together with a caring and solution focused approach to patient related problems.

You will have the ability to remain calm in difficult situations as well as having the initiative to identify outstanding workload and support the team in completing this. Flexibility to cover colleagues annual leave and sickness is desirable.

Weare a large, friendly practice with onsite parking in the centre of Ossett,caring for over 22,000 patients. We strive to deliver a high level of patientcare through innovative ways, working closely alongside other practices andexternal services.

Weencourage communication and social mixing and training is a key focus in ourteams. Although we are looking for an experienced receptionist, any successfulcandidate would be provided with a 12 week induction to gain a fullunderstanding of our procedures. Training includes a weekly review and allemployees are part of a 'house' team with a dedicated Partner to support with issuesand be a point of contact outside the management team.

Takingrepeat prescription requests and other documentation over the counter, usingthe correct forms, and following procedures

Providingan effective and efficient reception service using the practices clinicalcomputer system, making appointments, marking patients arrivals etc.

Undertakingwide ranging administrative duties including registering patients, data entry,producing prescriptions, sorting post, tag and marrying, filing, processingtemporary residents, managing reminders and recalls, etc

Dealsensitively with complaints from service users in accordance with the Practicespolicies and procedures.

Tobe responsible for incoming mail from patients and hospital providers receivedover the counter.

Tobe responsible for ordering patient transport when required and maintaining aclear record in line with Practice policy.

Undertakingwide ranging administrative duties including registering patients,photocopying, scanning, producing prescriptions, sorting post, tag andmarrying, filing, processing temporary residents, managing reminders andrecalls, etc.

Maintaining absoluteconfidentiality at all times and being aware of all Information Governance andData Protection regulations
