In this role you will lead adedicated team of approximately five professionals overseeing thepreparation and onsite installation of temporary traffic lights.Beyond ensuring the timely completion of projects yourresponsibilities will extend to effective team managementemphasizing preparedness and upholding rigorous Health and Safetystandards. As a Traffic Light Installations Supervisoryoull play a vital role in our Urban64 division overseeing thestrategic placement of concrete blocks and 7m posts to facilitatethe installation of temporary traffic signals. Your expertise willbe pivotal in ensuring the seamless installation of temporarytraffic signals onto these posts creating a reliable and adaptabletraffic control system. This involves precision cabling at a heightof 7m skilfully connected back to a central controller. Yourhandson leadership will be crucial in maintaining the integrity ofthese installations contributing to the effective management ofurban traffic flow and safety.

The supervisorrole demands a unique skill set. Punctuality is paramount ensuringtimely project execution and team readiness. Youll be adecisionmaking expert entrusted with critical choices in onsiteactivities team coordination and safety assessments. The ability toremain calm under pressure is nonnegotiable steering the teamthrough unforeseen challenges while maintaining composure. KeyResponsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and onsitedelivery of Urban64 traffic light installations.
  • Manage a team of around five people ensuringthey are suitably prepared & trained for onsite work.
  • Prioritize Health and Safety procedures toensure the safety of the team clients and the public.
  • Report and manage near misses to preventpotential accidents.
  • Ensure compliance withcompany risk assessments method statements and COSHH assessments.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and promote a culture ofsafety within the team.
  • Coordinate and use allinstallations equipment maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Complete quality checks on work carried out bythe installation teams promoting a Right First Time culture.
  • Provide updates toclients and ensure all mandatory information and reports aresubmitted promptly.
  • Represent the companyprofessionally and demonstrate discretion with confidentialinformation.
  • Supervise the development andtraining of new starters and less experienced installers.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance andorganization of the depot yard. Ensure that all equipment andvehicles are stored appropriately and the yard is wellmaintainedfor efficient operations.
  • Support Regional andescalation managers in decisionmaking by communicating onsiteconsiderations effectively.
  • Conduct dailyvehicle inspections to ensure high serviceability and cleanliness.
  • Oversee and implement housekeeping standardsat the depot ensuring a clean and organized workspace. Promote aculture of cleanliness and organization among the team.
  • Effectively manage and monitor the stock ofequipment and materials used for installations. Ensure accuraterecords are maintained and stock levels are replenished as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by theNationalManager.

DesirableQualifications:

  • GCSEsin English and Mathematics.
  • City and Guildsqualification or equivalent in highways installations.
  • Sector 8 Accreditation Health and Safetyqualifications (NRSWA G39 and ECS).
  • ITliterate.
  • IPAF Trained.
  • Hold an NPOR competency card.
  • SSSTS Qualified(mandatory within 6 months of employment).
  • CSCS cardholder.

EssentialExperience:

  • Ability towork alone and as part of a team.
  • Full drivinglicense with no more than three points.
  • 80/20split between site and depot work.
  • Supervisionof onsite works.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Competent in driving company vans and pickupsup to 3.5 Ton.
  • Competent in towing a trailerwith loaded plant equipment.
  • Ability toprioritize tasks and activities.
  • Ability toswitch between tasks/projects.
  • Ability toeffectively influence onsite workactivities.

DesirableExperience:

  • Basicelectrical knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge oftraffic signals theory (phases/stages/detection).
  • Experience in a Highways environment.
  • Basic knowledge of traffic lightinstallations.
