What would you be doing?

The piping engineering team is comprised of a number of engineering disciplines including Design and Layout, Stress and Supports, Piping Materials and Piping Management and Material Take Off (MTO).

The Design and Layout team are responsible for positioning all piping, equipment and other required infrastructure in the design of an energy plant / facility. Area layouts are developed considering safety, constructability, operability and maintenance of equipment and associated controls. The Piping Mechanical group produce key project deliverables in order to specify the material of piping and valves, define the design basis standards and identify all design and fabrication requirements required for our associated construction yard build completion, in line with schedule. You will develop knowledge to analyze major piping systems and become competent in the use of industry software. You will develop and continue to build on your knowledge of industry standards and KBR work methods.

The graduate will rotate through these disciplines as required, gaining an insight and appreciation of each, after which they will specialise in one or more of the disciplines, for their chosen career path.

Your learning will include KBRs IMechE accredited training scheme aimed at developing mechanical engineering skills within the piping discipline, as well as giving you an all-round appreciation of the business. From the outset you will gain experience with hands-on involvement working on projects, as well as developing skills working alongside experienced engineers.

KBR will support you to achieve Chartered Engineer status, the benchmark for Mechanical Engineering around the world. The title ‘Chartered Engineer’ identifies a level of professional engineer which provides assurance to clients of the quality and performance of engineers working on projects.

KBR ISI provides unrivalled expertise in the energy engineering field and the sky is the limit for the right person. If global travel is for you, then there are worldwide projects available to progress, experience and support, KBR careers in engineering are highly rewarding in every way.
