Job Description

Rockwell Automation is an established and specialist provider for repair of industrial electronic equipment. With a huge client portfolio this is a brilliant chance to join a leading operator within this sector. We believe in our staff; we believe in development and are also keen to progress from within.

We are looking for a resourceful, energetic problem solver that can work efficiently both individually and in a team setting. The potential candidate must be passionate about their work and the industry and want to grow within our company.

The motor repair engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and testing industrial servo motors. Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Rexroth, ABB, Yaskawa and all other top brands that we heavily support would also be an asset. Experience with the analysis and specification of parts that are worn, damaged or not functioning is also mandatory.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded individual with an educational background in motor repairs. Experience in industrial controls repair is a desired but not essential as full training will be given.

Responsibilities:

Static and dynamic testing. Diagnosing reasons for failure. Evaluation, dismantling, repairing and reassembly of Motors and Gearboxes. Examining all parts for cracks, wear and rubbing, breaks or out of tolerance measurements. Bearing replacement. Winding check and brake check. Replacing gaskets and seals. Feedback replacement as needed. Clean and re-paint to OEM colour. 100% functional test. Measuring wear using Micrometers, verniers, depth gauges etc. Measuring electrical diagnostics for example voltage, current, resistance etc Knowledge of motor and their characteristics. Dismantle, assess and determine reason for failure of motors. Test and measure individual components. Set up feedback devices. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a workshop environment.

Requirements:

Post schooling qualification and educational background in motor repairs Experience in industrial controls repair is a desired but not essential as full training will be given.
