TheRole

We are looking for a ParttimeGenetic Counselor to join our team to assess patient historiesinterpret genetic test results and provide individualized guidanceand advice to individuals and families to help them make decisionsabout their health and wellbeing. The successful candidate mustpossess a broad knowledge of genetics including prenatal cancer andclinicalgenetics.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient historiesand family medical records to identify potential geneticrisks.
  • Interpret genetic test results andexplain their implications to patients and familymembers.
  • Develop and provide patientspecificeducation regarding genetic conditions and treatments.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcareproviders to develop treatment plans and referrals.
  • Provide individualized counseling and support to patientsand family members on genetic conditions and healthrelatedissues.
  • Maintain accurate records of patientassessments testing andtreatments.

IdealProfile

  • Masters degreein Genetic Counseling from an accredited program.
  • Licensure or certification as a Genetic Counselor in thestate of practice.
  • 2 years of experience as aGenetic Counselor.
  • Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills.
  • Strong analytical andproblemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledgeof genetics and genetic counseling modalities.
  • Able to work collaboratively andindependently.
