Main duties of the job

You must be an HCPC-registered occupational therapist and have well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to contemporary practice. You will ideally be at the forefront of new ways of working in the NHS, in either primary or secondary settings, demonstrating care innovation and emergent management pathways. We are currently developing a team of lecturers to support placement learning activities across our 3 degree apprenticeship courses. It is envisaged that these posts will lead the placement team, and coordinate placement learning, supporting innovation and quality of occupational therapy practice education in higher education, whilst retaining strong links with employers, work-based mentors, practice educators and apprentices. The role also requires you to contribute to our pre-registration apprenticeship courses through teaching, assessing and academic citizenship/research activity.

Teaching, training, and supervising students and peers Well-developed current understanding of practical and theoretical issues in contemporary occupational therapy practice. Experience in a range of clinical environments and occupational therapy roles with evidence of highly developed specialised knowledge in at least one of these areas. Knowledge of current developments within the profession, NHS care, HEE, and Higher Education. Knowledge of how information technology and online learning can support educational delivery Evidence of a contribution to knowledge in your field publications/creative work/service evaluations Undertaking professional or academic project work , research, creative or industrial projects, scholarship and/or knowledge exchange

Qualifications

Essential

Good occupational therapy honours degree (, UK or 1st Class), or equivalent professional qualification or experience in a relevant discipline A relevant postgraduate qualification OR a commitment to complete one. Evidence of post-registration professional development in occupational therapy at MSc level HCPC Registration Postgraduate teaching qualification (PG Cert or HEA fellowship) or a commitment to complete the PG Cert Teaching in Higher Education (if eligible- see above)
