Job overview

The Deputy Clinical Director for the Cardiothoracic Directorate will be accountable to the Cardiothoracic Clinical Director, for their performance in supporting Cardiothoracic services. This is a key operational role within the Directorate. The post holder, along with the Clinical Director, will be accountable for Cardiothoracic services, to lead and be ensure services are patient focused and effective, as well as achieving national and local key performance indicators and standards.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide visible leadership to all staff within the Clinical Directorate and support the Clinical Director and Divisional Director in delivering the strategic plan for the Division. The post holder will work with the Clinical Director to ensure the Clinical Directorate meets its required objectives.

The Deputy Clinical Director will support the Clinical Director in leading a Directorate triumvirate to deliver on the Directorate priorities in conjunction with respective service leads, nursing, administration, and Allied Health Professional colleagues.

The post holder will work with the Divisional Management Team to ensure the Clinical Directorate meets its required objectives.
