About The Role
PBS Practitioner (Part time) £12.00 per for 25 hours per week (£12,000 per annum based on a 40-week contract)
Location: Working between Ty Bronllys (Brecon) and Summergil (Presteigne)

Our Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners understand this deeply, dedicating significant time to ensure a holistic, individual approach for each person we support. You’ll be integral in the delivery of person centred evidence based behavioural approaches and improving the quality of life of the individuals we support.
You will collaborate closely with our clinical team to implement and adapt support programmes. Strong IT skills are essential, as accurate case notes and regular reporting are critical for success in this role. This role is based in Brecon and Presteigne areas and involves providing support across several schools in the area.
A Day in the Life of a PBS Practitioner with Orbis Education and Care Involves:
  • Building Relationships: Developing strong, positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Behaviour Assessment: Effectively and compassionately working with individuals to carry out observations, functional analysis, audits and service evaluations. Whilst supporting staff to develop their skills, confidence, and knowledge.
  • PBS Plans: Assisting operational teams in completing behaviour assessments and creating specific PBS plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring the implementation of PBS across all settings as part of the clinical strategy plan led by the Head of Clinical Services.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining up-to-date records of meetings and support in accordance with GDPR.
  • Professional Development: Undertaking, completed or willing to undertake the Level 3 Certificate in PBS or equivalent qualification , with the support of a PBS practitioner as a mentor.
To be a Successful PBS Practitioner with Orbis Education and Care, You’ll Need:
  • Holistic Assessment Skills: Ability to complete holistic assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience: Experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, and associated complex needs and behaviours of concern within a residential or educational setting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • PBS Knowledge: Good knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support theory and practice.
  • Educational Commitment: Enrolled on a PBS qualification or willing to undertake.
  • Driver: Essential
