If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you Protocol are working with FE college based in Warrington in their search for an experienced Argriculture lecturer.

Job Duties:

  • Contribute towards a high-quality pre-entry and initial assessment process to ensure that learners’ needs are met.
  • Ensuring the provision of high-quality pastoral and supportive care of students as part of the whole learner journey. Ensure the provision of highly effective guidance to students to assist them through their programme and in their progression onto a positive destination for example higher learning or employment.
  • Work effectively within teams responsible for devising, reviewing, and maintaining effective management of study programmes; and contribute towards sharing of good practice.
  • Ensure quality files and course/programme team information on platforms such as SharePoint are appropriate, support the team, reduce workload, facilitate great teamwork and sharing of practice.
  • This includes ensuring schemes of learning/lesson planning is in line with college policy and expected practice.
  • Celebrate and promote staff and student success within the college to support the college’s culture for valuing people and recognising excellence.
  • Help to inspire and Educate: Take on a pivotal role in shaping the minds of future agricultural engineers, delivering engaging lectures, practical demonstrations, and hands-on workshops that foster innovation and problem-solving skills.
  • Cultivate Practical Skills: Design and implement practical training programs that equip students with hands-on experience in agricultural engineering techniques, including machinery operation, irrigation systems, automation, and data analysis. Prepare them for successful careers in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Mentor Future Leaders: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, nurturing their talents and empowering them to become leaders and change-makers in the agricultural engineering field. Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and entrepreneurship, instilling a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Collaborate and Network: Engage in collaborative projects with colleagues, industry experts, and local farmers to enhance curriculum development, share knowledge, and stay at the forefront of advancements in agricultural engineering. Develop strategic partnerships to create internship and job placement opportunities for students.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven industry experience in agricultural engineering, demonstrating expertise in precision farming, sustainable agriculture, automation, or related areas.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and technology used in agricultural engineering.
