Job summary

Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre (ESEOC), situated in the Dame Clare Marx Building, is set to open its doors in 2024. This cutting-edge facility will specialize in elective Orthopaedic surgery and Orthopaedic day cases.

With eight laminar flow theatres, three wards, recovery facilities, and comprehensive support services, ESEOC is poised to become one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe. The Centre is committed to delivering high-volume, low-complexity cases locally, fostering excellence, and contributing to education, training, and research in the field.

We are looking for physiotherapists to join the new service and work as part of our Orthopaedic physiotherapy team.

Main duties of the job

To gain experience and develop skills and knowledge in Orthopaedic physiotherapy within the acute setting Understanding an contributing to the orthopaedic physiotherapy pathways. To manage own caseload of patients, seeking advice and problem solving from senior staff when required. To link in with the MDT in ESEOC to contribute to the care of elective patients

Qualifications

Essential

BSc / MSc Physiotherapy HCPC Registered Physiotherapist

Desirable

Associated prior learning qualification. Membership of professional body / specialist Interest Group

Experience

Essential

A range of placement as a student Musculoskeletal/orthopaedics Attendance at case conference/ward meeting/handover.

Desirable

Experience of working with therapy assistants/assistant practitioners Experience within specialist areas.

Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge of presenting diagnoses and their management Evidence of clinical reasoning process Delivery of evidence based practice and how to keep practice current
