The Role:

As a Cover Teacher, you will step into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. While previous experience as a cover teacher is advantageous, it is not essential as long as you are confident, adaptable, and able to manage a classroom effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre-set lesson plans across a variety of subject areas.
  • Assisting students with their learning and managing any queries they may have.
  • Maintaining classroom order and ensuring all safeguarding and behaviour policies are followed.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Those with experience working with young people, such as recent graduates, Teaching Assistants, or those with experience in youth work or youth clubs.
  • Candidates who have a passion for education and are confident in leading a classroom.
  • A strong communicator who can think on their feet and manage a classroom effectively.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates seeking experience before starting a PGCE or similar Teacher Training Programme, as well as individuals with experience working in education or similar fields.
