Job Description:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teacher to join our team in Liverpool. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs by providing them with the support, guidance, and education they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEND, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods and materials as needed to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and parents/carers to create and maintain an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to foster a safe and engaging educational experience.
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to support the holistic development of students.
  • Stay up-to-date with SEND best practices, legislation, and educational resources to continuously improve your teaching strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND in a primary or secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, including EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check and on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
