Job summary

The post holder will be working to provide the strategic leadership needed across the NEY regions with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and other stakeholders to facilitate growth and sustainability of the supply pipeline of health & social care students ready to join the workforce.

The post-holder will serve a wide range of professions and groups in the Health & Care Team

This will involve responsibility for a comprehensive portfolio of projects, including Enabling Effective Learning Environments (EELE), Clinical Placements Expansion Programme (CPEP), as well as other initiatives established with NHSE funding, which have been introduced to ensure/improve the quality of practice education and expand placement capacity across the NEY region.

A key focus of this role will be to oversee the programme management functions of the Learning Environments and Placement Development (LEAP) programme across the ICBs, working with partner organisations and representatives across primary care, secondary care, social care, the private and voluntary sector, further education and higher education, professional standards and regulatory bodies and arm's length bodies.

The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with other programme leads and workforce leads across the North East & Yorkshire (NEY) region, the NHSE NEY regional team, as well as aligned national initiatives.

Main duties of the job

Communicate and present highly complex information about projects, initiatives and services to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting including NHSE, Integrated Care System partners across health and care. Commit to working and engaging constructively with internal and external stakeholders on a range of practice education issues Nurture key relationships across primary and secondary care and maintain networks internally and externally, including national networks. Represent partner stakeholders, across NHSE and with wider stakeholders to deliver transformation priorities against local and national objectives within NHSE and the wider healthcare sector. Assist with public relations and marketing activities. Assist with Freedom of Information requests, keeping under review the framework in accordance with the legislation. Fulfil the role of reporting lead to the Regional Learning Environments and Placements Board. Work with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and ICB partner health and care organisations to agree a sustainable method of placements in multiple healthcare settings. Deputise for more senior members of the team in representing the organisation in formal settings. Develop an effective strategy for large-scale rollout of preregistration trainee placements in multiple healthcare settings. Work with WTE Quality team and Directorate quality lead to ensure positive practice learning experience for students from Health and Care Professions
