Sheffield, United Kingdom Autodesk Full time

Position Overview

The Autodesk Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Solutions group is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to create cutting-edge web-targeting libraries and support infrastructure. This role involves developing, releasing, and maintaining high-quality web applications that are used by construction companies globally. These applications and cloud solutions streamline processes for planning, construction, and operation of large infrastructure projects. If you are a software engineer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and enjoys working with the latest technologies and tools, we would be thrilled to hear from you

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, software architects, and stakeholders to design, develop, integrate, and maintain efficient build and release pipelines. Participate in all aspects of web software development, with a specific focus on creating non-UI web libraries, implementing solutions to optimize web application maintenance, and assisting in the maintenance of existing web applications. Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of other teams. Ensure the delivery of high-quality code by adhering to best practices such as conducting peer code reviews and following coding standards. Accurately and thoroughly document and present your ideas and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field. Thorough understanding of concepts and processes involved in building, releasing, and maintaining web applications, including familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, React or MobX. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tooling, scripting, and programming languages used for setting up and managing build and release pipelines, such as Webpack, Jenkins, Spinnaker, or Groovy. Proficiency in source code management using GIT. Experience working with frontend testing frameworks like Jest and Cypress. Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud infrastructure technologies. Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as PostgresDB and MySqlDB. Experience with NoSQL Database Management Systems (DBMS) like AWS DynamoDB, AWS S3, and MongoDB. Knowledge of REST API development and familiarity with cloud-native concepts.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a cloud-native software developer with a deep understanding of cloud technologies. Cloud design patterns, tools, and best practices are second nature to you. You have a strong passion for learning and are eager to work with the latest tools and technologies in the industry.

You possess a natural curiosity and constantly seek out new and improved ways of doing things. You are not afraid to share your innovative ideas with the engineering team.

Collaboration is key for you, and you excel as a team player and effective communicator. You effortlessly build collaborative relationships with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Working with distributed team members is something you enjoy and are comfortable with.

You have a strong drive and determination to deliver results. You consistently strive for the highest standards in a dynamic, agile environment with shifting priorities. You are self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also being open to direction and feedback from partners and team members. You excel at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

How you would spend your day

As a member of an agile team, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to develop web-targeting libraries, maintain existing web applications and libraries, and create support infrastructure for building, testing, deploying, and maintaining our web applications. You will have the opportunity to work with a global team, collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines such as software architecture, business, engineering, and operations. This diverse collaboration will enrich your work experience. You will have the chance to work with the latest technologies in a flexible environment that encourages innovation and creativity. This means you will have the freedom to explore and utilize cutting-edge tools and techniques to enhance your work.
