Ensuring that a clean and welcomingenvironment is provided for our clients and customers staff andvisitors maintaining our reputation
Providing asafe environment ensuring infection control and hygiene policiesand procedures are followed
Getting to knowclients requirements and preferences and providing a personalisedservice
Contributing to safeguarding thewelfare of clients
Responsibilities andaccountabilities
Undertaking avariety of general cleaning tasks which may be in clients rooms and/ or communal areas including but not limited to: bed makingvacuuming dusting floor washing dishwashing toilet cleaningemptying bins and recycling
Cleaning to the expected standards in line with policies andprocedures including the infection control policy
Maintaining up to date knowledgeabout efficient and safe use of cleaning equipment and appropriateand safe use of chemical cleaning products and COSHHregulations.
Keeping allcleaning equipment in good working order and carrying out routinemaintenance tasks on cleaning equipment. Reporting anyfaults
Getting to knowindividual needs of the clients and ensuring any specific dietaryrequirements are met (e.g. allergies texture modification specialand cultural diets)
Providing an initial response to requests or complaints withprofessionalism and understanding. Referring to a senior member ofstaff where appropriate
Carrying out basic food preparation tasks maintaining good foodhygiene
Preparing diningareas for meals (hot and cold) and serving meals to clients.Clearing away tables.
Serving tea to clients which may be in their rooms or in communalareas
Keeping basic recordsup to date including cleaning charts in rooms providing evidence ofcleaning for the benefit of clients families and for audit andinspection purposes
Workingas part of a team and providing cover on occasion to KitchenAssistants or Laundry Assistants to ensure smooth running of theservice
Ensuring highstandards of personal hygiene and presentation in accordance withthe infection control and uniform policies
Attending staff meetings as and whenrequired
PersonSpecification
Musthaves:
Ability to use a range of cleaning equipment and to read and carryout basic instructions.
Written English skillsas required to complete cleaning records
Areasonable level of physical fitness as required to carry out therole
Ability to work alongside existing and newmembers of the team
Ability to communicate withclients to provide a welcoming environment
Prepared to work towards a Food Hygiene Safety Level 2Certificate.
Prepared to work towards aCertificate in Infection Control
. Understandingof basic food hygiene
Understanding of basichealth and safety requirements
Basic knowledgeof cleaning equipment
Good to have:
Food Safety Level 2 HygienceCertificate.
Certificate in InfectionControl.
Protection of Vulnerable AdultTraining
. Ability to work on owninitiative
Previous cleaningexperience
Awareness of Health and Hygienepractices COSHH regulations infection controlprocedures.
