Position: Key Stage 2 Teacher (mixed year 5/6 class)
Pay: £140-£180
Contract Type: full time, long term
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Key Stage 2 Teacher for a full time and long term cover supporting a mixed year 5/6 class at a small and nurturing Primary School in Chesterfield.

You will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students, delivering high-quality instruction, and supporting their overall development. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective classroom management abilities, and a commitment to fostering a love for learning in young minds.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons based on the curriculum guidelines, ensuring they are appropriate for the age and abilities of the students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning, collaboration, and respect among students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a disciplined and safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to develop and implement a cohesive curriculum that meets educational objectives.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behaviour, and any concerns that may arise.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with educational trends.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, grades, and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, fostering a positive classroom community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Proven experience as a Primary Teacher, preferably in a similar temporary capacity.
  • Sound knowledge of primary curriculum guidelines and educational best practices.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a temporary assignment through a recruitment agency.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with educational advancements.
  • Successful completion of background checks and any other necessary screening required by the recruitment agency and the school.
