Job summary

We have an exciting operational opportunity within the Planned Care Directorate team at the Rochdale Infirmary for a 12 month Band 4 Failsafe Officer in Ophthalmology.

You will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment whilst achieving challenging deadlines.

Main duties of the job

As a Failsafe Officer for the Service, you will ensure the supervision and provision of an efficient and effective administrative service, including monitoring of patient waiting times and pathways.

You will be supporting the Directorate and Assistant Directorate Manager to ensure optimum and ongoing performance in line with corporate objectives.

You will have hospital administrative experience, with the ability to achieve results and targets whilst working collaboratively with clinical colleagues.

Qualifications

Essential

Diploma level qualification or equivalent experience 5 GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English

Experience

Essential

Substantial administration experience. Experience of using NCA clinical systems PAS, Patient Centre etc. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team Experience of team working and working independently Experience of managing waiting lists

Desirable

Experience of working in a demanding environment

Skills & Knowledge

Essential

Excellent planning / organisational skills Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the organisation Keyboard/IT skills Ability to work without supervision Good influencing and negotiating skills Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service Ability to demonstrate leadership/management Awareness of the Data Protection Act and the need for confidentiality
