The Company:
Our client is the UK and Irelands biggest supplier oftemporary traffic light equipment with 30 depots nationwide. Theyalso manufacture and hire various other products that are oftenused in tandem with temporary traffic signals products like CCTVcameras ANPR automatic workzone protection barriers and variablemessaging signs.
Traffic light operatives arethe backbone of the business. Day in and day out the operatives areon the front line with customers you might say like the 4themergency service delivering on the partnerships that have enabledthem to continue to grow over the last 25 years with no experiencerequired our client invests in comprehensive training for all newstarters.

TheRole:
As a Traffic LightOperative (TLO) your main role will be installing repairing andremoving temporary traffic lights. This tends to be working onbehalf of their hire customers some of whom will be contracted forlongterm works while others will be working more reactively inresponse to things like emergency utilities works or roadtrafficaccidents. The nature of these emergency works means hours willvary. This can occasionally involve weekend work and nightwork.
Your main responsibilitiesinclude:
- Workingonsite Traffic Management plans.
- Basic faultfinding and resolution of companyequipment.
- Signal maintenance and batteryexchanges.
- Adhering to all company policiesprocedures and safe methods of working.
- Youwill promote a positive company image whilst at work wearingcompanybranded PPE.
The operativeroles are fastpaced and active. There certainly wont be a dull dayApplicants for the role should bear in mind that the batteries inthe traffic lights weigh 23kg each so there can be quite a lot ofmanual handling involved daytoday. Its important to mention theycontinue to invest in EHSQ to ensure that the whole team workssafely throughout and are ROSPA Gold winners.

- Experience andqualifications:
- A full UK driving license isessential as you will have a company van/truck whichwill be taken home at night. A safe place to park isessential.
Desirable:
- A previous role in maintaining or operatingtemporary traffic systems.
- A previouselectrical background would be beneficial.
You must have the right to work in Irelandwe will also complete a driving license background check on yourinitial call ifselected.
