This is an exciting opportunity to join the orthopaedic and plastics team at the Royal London Hospital (one of Barts Health NHS Trust hospitals) and a major trauma centre, as an Orthoplastics Nurse Co-ordinator. The orthopaedic and plastic trauma service sits within the hospital's Emergency Care and Trauma Division.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to and is able to work in a busy and challenging environment; is able to prioritise workload and seek help from senior colleagues. You must have excellent communication skills; enjoy interacting with people and being part of a busy fast paced major trauma centre.

You will be a registered nurse with an extensive knowledge of trauma orthopaedics and plastics. The ability to navigate your way around and confidence in working with software applications is essential. We would welcome applicants who are looking for a challenge in this busy and exciting environment and are able to cover weekends when required to do so.

You will be working closely with and be well supported by experienced and friendly orthopaedic and plastics trauma team and world class surgeons.

Main duties of the job

The co-ordination of the Orthopaedic and Plastic Trauma services. This is a busy but interesting role which involves every aspect of the organisation of orthopaedic and plastics patients, including ward rounds, virtual clinics, arranging theatres slots etc. There is scope to complete the advanced assessment course which can lead to promotion to band 7
