We are looking for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our nursing teams in oncology based at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. We’re looking for an experienced Healthcare Support Worker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who is keen to learn and take on new clinical skills to work alongside our nursing teams. You will have an enthusiastic, committed and professional approach to the delivery of care, ensuring the best patient experience. You should be an excellent team player with the ability to use your own initiative and judgement to resolve issues. You will have a tactful and sensitive manner with the ability to work under pressure. Previous Nursing Assistant experience and successful completion of the Care Certificate (or equivalent healthcare qualification) is essential , along with an ability to demonstrate compassion and a commitment to learning new skills.

Main duties of the jobAs a member of the team in this enhanced role you will support and work closely with registered practitioners to deliver a high standard of care to patients, families and their carers in a safe and supportive environment without the need for direct supervision.
You will work as part of the wider team in developing and maintaining services provided to patients and contribute to the safe, efficient and smooth running of the ward/clinical area or department. This will be undertaken whilst maintaining the dignity and privacy of all patients and respect their right to confidentiality.
You will complete and maintain on an ongoing basis a generic and specific portfolio of clinical competencies and/or Care Certificate as required.
