Job summary

Due to career progression of our existing staff and developments within our services we have an exciting static opportunity within our respiratory medicine team. We are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist or a Band 5 ready to progress to a Band 6 to join our respiratory OT team to help us to ensure that we meet the Trust's vision to provide every patient with the care we want for those we love the most. This post is for hours per week.

The post will be based on the acute respiratory ward working alongside both OT and MDT colleagues to implement and deliver a comprehensive OT service including specialist knowledge and education to our respiratory patients. Respiratory knowledge and experience is preferred however not essential and other relevant clinical experience will be considered.

The Occupational Therapy service at NNUH has over 90 members of staff committed to providing high quality patient care across all specialisms. We have a dynamic working environment where two days are never the same. There is the opportunity to work with a diverse range of individuals, requiring many areas of occupational therapy skills and knowledge in order to have a positive impact at a time when it is needed most.

Main duties of the job

We are committed to providing the post holder with the opportunity to develop current/new skills with access to in-service training and professional development. You will receive supervision and annual appraisal; have access to peer support and encouragement to take an active role within your own continuing professional development.

As an autonomous practitioner, you will:
