Overview of the role:

Reporting to the Group Standards and Legislation Manager at one of our modern engineering centres in Staffordshire, you will be responsible for a range of product legislation, developing procedures for new Engineering IT systems and be responsible for the ongoing management of engineering approvals to maintain product certification. This role will include worldwide travel to assist with development of new and revisions of existing standards for machinery design. 

Key responsibilities will include:

- Support external legislation and standards development for tractors, access platforms and attachments / components in the UK, Europe and International associations (travel will be required)

 - Assist the S&L team with creation, review, editing and approval of internal JCB engineering standards and group procedures.

- Manage and approve updates for engineering declarations, certificates of conformity and data plates using SAP. Implementing changes for sales, operations and engineering to maintain certification.

- Receive and action updates of SAP data tables using engineering systems, liaise with JCB IT and SAP help desks as required.

- Assist with internal standards development for ASSENT materials compliance, communicate requirements within engineering, manage approvals and develop / maintain internal engineering processes.

Ideal candidates will be:

- Educated to a minimum HND level in Engineering discipline.

- Proficient in the use of JCB engineering software, although training will be provided for suitable candidates.

- Interest in machinery legislation, design regulations and development of international and European standards.

- Self-motivated and capable of working well both alone and as a member of a team.

- Have an interest in vehicle and roading within the UK, Europe and ROW. 

- Valid passport
