Job summary

The Pathology Department at Bedford site has a vacancy for a Operations Support Assistant. You will be required to undertake receipting and distribution duties. The task is very physical in nature due to the picking, packing, sorting, and delivery of goods. Responsible for good stock management, raising requisitions to suppliers, processing orders, dealing with questions and queries. You will need to work with colleagues to ensure good stock movement. The candidate will be responsible for autoclaving of clinical ideal candidate will have a full understanding of best customer service practices and possess the ability to work on their own initiative developing customer relationships and new effective order processes. Excellent communications skills are paramount and the ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team. A good standard of general education and numerical competency is a must. Computer literacy is essential. Previous experience within procurement and the Health sector would be a distinctive advantage.

Main duties of the job

Receive and distribute deliveries.

Order consumables for Bedford Pathology site.

Maintain accurate records of orders and deliveries

Distribute GP supplies

Autoclaving

JOB SUMMARY

1. The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team, liaise with other healthcare professionals, clinicians, laboratory staff, suppliers and/or their representatives. 2. The post holder will contribute in the provision of an efficient service for the Pathology The post holder must observe the policies and procedures relevant to the role. The work involves routinely handling paperwork patient reports, post and deliveries to pathology that may contain pathogenic micro-organisms. 4.
