Were looking for anexperienced software engineer to join our Field Systems team tohelp create the next generation of automated R&D fieldequipment. Your responsibilities will include requirements designdevelopment test and support of our research control softwaresystems. Systems capabilities include data acquisition from otherhardware/software systems machine control cloud connectivityprocess control and user interaction. You will also be looked uponto be a technical leader and mentor to junior engineers. You willbe a member of a cross functional team expected to set technicaldirection and organize how tasks fit into the overall project. This position requires a bachelors degree in computerengineering computer science electrical engineering mechanicalengineering or related discipline with 4 years of demonstrableexperience owning the development of automated/control systems. Required Skills:
  • Strongsoftware development skills
  • Ability to drive software development in all phases ofthe product lifecycle as part of a small multidisciplinedengineering team.
    This includes project planningderiving requirements from system objectives organizing andprioritizing work delivering results and providing support.
  • 4 years experiencedeveloping machine to machine (M2M) and electromechanicalautomation system software in C# C C or Python
  • 4 years experience developingmultithreaded/process applications/services and the commonconstructs and patterns associated with them.
  • Excellent system (software andhardware) troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Experience with and anunderstanding of the value of modern development concepts andpractices including OO principles unit testing agile developmentTDD and continuous delivery
  • Experience developing networked systems that communicatewith data generating devices and data aggregation andtransformation services
  • Experience developing with network protocols such asTCP/UDP MQTT
  • Attention to detail and data driven decision making
  • Experience withsoftware projects that cross multiple team/company boundaries
  • Experience indeveloping applications on multiple operating systems such asWindows Linux iOS Mac OS Android.
PreferredSkills:
  • Experience developing IoT and data drivensystems.
  • 4 yearsexperience developing with MS technologies such as Visual Studio.NET WPF WinForms console applications etc.
  • Experience using serialcommunication standards such as RS422 RS485 and RS232
  • Experience developing datadrivensystems using relational and/or NoSQL database technologies such asOracle SQLite PostgreSQL SQL Server MongoDB Cassandra
  • Experience with and understandingof the value of modern development tools such as Git CVS SubversionJenkins NuGet JIRA Aha and Azure DevOps
