Caretaker

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Caretaker to join our dedicated team, working 2.30pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. 

Highfield School is an 11-19 secondary school for pupils with severe learning difficulties. Our pupils have a wide range of additional needs including speech, language and communication difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, more complex learning needs, physical disabilities and a number have rare genetic disorders. Our school is popular and oversubscribed. Pupils benefit from our highly specialised teaching, outstanding pastoral care and the wide range of specialist support services and interventions we provide through our personalised programmes.

The successful candidates should:

Be able to work as part of a team and work on own initiative Be able to work proactively to keep the school site clean, tidy and in a good state of repair Promote and ensure the health and safety of pupils, staff & visitors (in accordance with appropriate health & safety legislation) at all times Comply with & record regular site/equipment inspections Be able to work flexibly to accommodate lettings Be able to communicate with pupils, colleagues and school visitors
