The Position

Senior Risk Manager

Roche has defined an exciting 10-year ambition plan, requiring us to adapt and transform to our evolving ecosystem and the challenges ahead. We have redesigned our Global Procurement (GP) organization to ensure we can succeed in this new environment and deliver on our mission for patients by building new capabilities and creating a more agile organization. We aim to improve our ability to deliver on our vision to “accelerate Roche’s goal to bring innovative solutions to patients quickly and efficiently through business and supplier partnerships.” If you are excited about driving this change and catalyzing the future by establishing a world class supplier risk management framework, the Senior Risk Manager role is for you.

What is Supplier Risk Management?

In Roche Global Procurement, we aim to bring more, better and higher quality solutions to our patients faster, while ensuring cost effectiveness and minimizing risk exposure. Supplier Risk Management efforts help ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials and services. The Supplier Risk Management team is a relatively new team within GP, focused on detecting and managing active supplier and market risks, identifying and preventing potential emerging risks, and building overall supply chain is an exciting and important area where you can develop cross-functionally, connect closely to business needs, and deliver meaningful, long-term value to Roche and, ultimately, patients.

Using your specialized and in-depth knowledge in supply chain resilience, financial risk, and supplier risk management, you help ensure security of supply through proactively identifying and mitigating potential supplier and market risks, supporting disaster recovery, and enhancing supplier partnerships to ensure business continuity and solve business problems.

You will be responsible for the oversight of end-to-end risk management program for specific procurement categories. This includes building data driven analysis to inform risk mitigation and business continuity management actions, development of strategy and business cases to support recommendations. You will be working closely with procurement colleagues, business customers, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders.

As the Senior Risk Manager, you will play a variety of roles according to your experience, knowledge, and general requirements, including but not limited to:

Oversee and drive the execution of end-to-end supplier risk management activities throughout the supplier lifecycle (Planning, Due Diligence, Contacting, Ongoing Monitoring & Termination)

Provide through thought leadership, advice, and know-how on supply chain resilience, financial risk, and supplier risk prevention

Apply the supplier risk management framework to reduce risk, minimize business disruption and ensure business continuity and disaster recovery through support, coaching, and co-creation with team members or colleagues

You will work with the team, networks, and squads to ensure prioritization, consistency, coordinated strategic direction, and delivery of both project and foundational work.

Your successful performance and contribution depend on the full embodiment and demonstration of core mindsets and behaviors, including an entrepreneurial spirit, enterprise thinking, inclusive collaboration, and desire for continuous learning that underpin our culture and ways of working.

You bring the following skills, mindsets, and behaviors:

Skills

You hold a university degree, with a law, business, life science or engineering degree preferable. Established understanding of supply chain fundamentals and risk management

Experience in continuous improvement of business processes, including process ownership, oversight and monitoring.
