Due to our growth and to support the continued delivery of excellent service to our customers and the sector, we are now seeking to appoint a qualified, experienced and highly capable Clinical Specialist.

 

Reporting to the Senior Product Marketing Manager, the Clinical Advisor will hold overall responsibility for all clinical aspects and clinical research. This will include prioritising key projects to drive brands and the commercial agenda and work collaboratively with sales and marketing colleagues.

 

The Clinical Advisor will use significant clinical knowledge, experience and understanding of medical devices and their application to develop, maintain and progress skills and knowledge of all colleagues of devices within a client-focused healthcare environment.

A key responsibility of the role will be educating colleagues and clients about anatomy and physiology, pressure ulcer prevention, medical device application, maintenance and all related regulatory requirements and associated governance and compliance.

 

Key tasks and accountabilities associated with the role are as follows:

  • Provision of clinical support for projects, campaigns and events.
  • Support the marketing and sales teams with relevant clinical content for materials.
  • Collaborate with customers to provide support and guidance aligned to both regulatory and business requirements.
  • Develop a gold standard of recognised KOL and advocate management, playing a key role in the development of the business advisory board.
  • Identify and manage an allocated programme of clinical trials and keep line manager informed of progress to planned and agreed timelines.
  • Help develop and host a CPD approved Pressure Ulcer Prevention workshop/program
  • Work in conjunction with the commercial division to plan and execute gold standard product implementation plans for new customers.
  • Support healthcare professionals in appropriate product selection for individualised care.
  • Coach, mentor and train sales and marketing colleagues manufacturing staff and healthcare professionals on the appropriate use of medical devices.
  • In conjunction with appropriate colleagues (R&D, Marketing) develop and produce training and development literature and other materials.
  • As required, support and attend equipment review groups along with the commercial team and drive the clinical focus and agenda at events and exhibitions.
  • Support investigations and assessments in relation to device failure. Including incidents due to adverse events and propose and develop action to reduce risk or avoid future incidents.


Applicants should possess five years of clinical experience gained within tissue viability, significant experience in running clinical evaluations in line with the NHS Health Research Authority (HRA) and the Integrated Research Application System (IRAS) requirements and knowledge of pressure ulcer prevention medical devices, their operation and application as well as device development and deployment.


An ability to demonstrate advanced and detailed knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance, and adherence to any governance is essential as is experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues and clients with regards to all clinical aspects of pressure ulcer prevention and devices.


Applicants should possess significant project management and ownership with a solution driven mindset with a high degree of diligence and the ability to work autonomously, plan, execute and lead on all clinical aspects of device assessment, development, and implementation.


The successful applicant will hold responsibility to maintain NMC PIN for nursing registration and will be supported by the Company in doing so.


Due to the geographical locations of the Company and client base, it is essential applicants hold a full UK driving licence.
