Senior Quantity Surveyor – Building North East and Yorkshire
Newcastle
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior QS to join the team at Galliford Try.
Ideally, you will based in or around Newcastle and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
What you will be doing:
Commercial & Contractual
Analysis of tender allowances The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts. Agreement of valuation dates and preparing, submitting interim valuations in accordance with those dates. Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions Subcontract and Design Procurement Subcontract payments, variations and final accounts Submission of Cost Value Reconciliations Preparation of cost to completeFinancial Reporting
Cash management and maximisation Cash Flow and Turnover forecast Provision of standard reportsInternal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines
About You:
Professional Qualification ( HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a main contractor, specifically on Design and Build; as well as sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract Consideration to candidates of an infrastructure / housebuilding background will be considered Having sound Public sector experience is preferrable Expereince of two stage open book collabortive approach is desirable You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership).
