This newly created role will work as part of a wider team of governance professionals who are responsible for maintaining the highest levels of corporate governance within the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and its five Places.

The postholder will work with the Head of Corporate Governance:

o to ensure that the ICB has sound systems, policies and processes in place to proactively manage all aspects of risk

o to deliver a high quality and integrated incident management service for the ICB

o to oversee the investigation of any claims against the ICB

o to coordinate the ICBs access to high quality legal advice.

Main duties of the job

To support the establishment and management of effective corporate risk systems and processes for the ICB and provide specialist advice to the organisation on risk management and any nationally required processes

To lead on the development of the ICBs Board Assurance Framework and corporate and place risk registers.

To work with directors and managers to identify areas of new and changed risk.

To maintain the ICBs risk management software tools.

To ensure that all risks included on the risk registers and assurance framework are described appropriately and include details of all relevant controls, assurances, gaps, and risk score.

To provide advice and support on all risk management matters

To lead and support the design, development, and implementation of ICB risk management arrangements to support internal developments and change programmes.

To develop appropriate risk management policies or update existing policies to reflect new developments.

To support the Head of Corporate Governance in delivering a high quality and integrated incident management service for the ICB.

To support the Head of Corporate Governance, investigating officers and specialist advisors (, IG, Health & Safety, Security) in the investigation and reporting of any incidents as required.

To oversee the investigation of any claims made against the ICB and liaise with NHS Resolution in relation to claims and the ICBs indemnity cover.
