JobSummary:

Financing netzero is a major barrier to the delivery of Climate ambitions.Government has worked with its innovation agency Innovate UK todesign it s Net Zero Living Programme to tackle nontechnicalbarriers such as finance to Net Zerodelivery.

Aspart of this Programme Cambridgeshire County Council is fundedthrough the PANZ Project Peterborough Accelerating Net Zero todevelop financing options for a range of Net Zero solutions neededin a place to test their viability andreplicability.

Theoutcome of the project work is to develop and test the evidencebase for a new Net Zero Asset or equivalent model with investorsand apply this to a reallife case study to attract funding into aplace for net zerodelivery.

KeyDuties/Accountabilities

Build widerunderstanding and knowledge in the Council on the complexchallenges of financing placebased net zero delivery for urban andruralcommunities.

Lead thedevelopment and testing of portfolios of net zero projects withinvestors to build an evidence base for place/neighbourhoodbasedinvestment in Net Zero.

Test and iteratethe concept of a Net Zero Asst class or similar model. drawing onbest practice models from other places as well as ideas generatedwithin the PANZproject.

Build strongworking relationships with all PANZ project partners to workpositively with them to secure the very best outputs for theproject.

Representingthe Council at all PANZ project meetings embodying the Council sexpected behaviours when working with key industry stakeholders andthe grantfunders.

Develop andgrow strong professional networks strategic collaborations andrelationships with key internal and industry stakeholders tosupport effective delivery and buyin for the projectoutputs.

EssentialExperienceRequired:

Experienceof financing and investment models including process todevelop and establish new models particularly those applicable tothe financing of new project portfoliosisessential.

Experience ofdifferent sources of financing and their application toenvironmental or social projects isessential.

Experienceworking with Investment strategies and fund management for clientsisessential.

EssentialQualificationRequired:

Degree (BSc MAMSc MBA) or professional qualification in financial modellingeconomics and accounting or equivalent experience isessential.

Additionalinformation tonote:

Working hours:37 hours perweek.

The role isHybrid (Sackville House WFH available and flexible with some F2Fmeetings).
