Again is a circular economy start-up, building the infrastructure to enable brands to reuse their packaging again and again. Our mission is to divert billions of units of packaging into the circular economy. 

We are doing this by operating the reverse supply chain to enable packaging to be returned to our smart packaging cleaning facilities (we call them CleanCells), where packaging is sorted, cleaned and quality checked before being sent back onto producers' filling lines to be refilled.

About the Role

 

We are opening a brand new CleanCell facility in the North-West which will have capacity to clean half a million units per month and are looking for a Production Operations Manager to deliver CleanCell performance at scale. 

You’ll be based at our Runcorn facility and report into our Head of Operations (also based on site). 

 

Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Driving and optimising the performance of our CleanCell operations through work-order planning, process improvement and issue resolution.
  • Troubleshooting and identifying where improvements can be made in the technology. 
  • Recruiting, onboarding and leading a team of Shift Leads and operators. 
  • Structured and data-led performance reporting.
  • Owning Health, Safety and product quality procedures at your site. 

Your team: 

  • You’ll report directly to the Head of Operations.
  • You’ll lead and line manage a team of Operators and Shift Leads. 
  • You’ll collaborate with our Product Onboarding Manager to develop and optimise work-order instructions. 
  • You’ll collaborate with our Supply Operations manager to ensure an efficient handover of product from supply to ops. 
  • You’ll collaborate with our Quality Manager to ensure CleanCell operations are safe and compliant against regulations and accreditations (eg HACCP) and deliver product quality.
What we’re looking for in you:
  • Demonstrable experience in running efficient manufacturing and/or production lines. Food/drinks production experience would be especially advantageous. 
  • Experience and/or fascination with how automation hardware and control systems work. 
  • Demonstrable experience in line management of Operators. 
  • Highly adept at converting raw data into actionable insights. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to know when to take a meticulous and methodical approach and when to move fast.
  • A willingness to be hands-on, this will not be a full-time desk job  
Interview Process:
  1. Intro call (30 min) - A chance to get to know each-other and for you to ask questions about the role. 
  2. Case Study Presentation - A short exercise using some real life case studies. The exercise will give you a flavour of the types of tasks you’ll be doing and a chance for us to assess your skills and abilities. 
  3. Final Round -  Meet some more of the team to assess culture fit.
