We are seeking an exceptional individual with a strong track record of research and research-led teaching to join the School of Medicine. The successful candidate will significantly enhance our research, attract external funding and foster interdisciplinary links across the wider University and with NHS Tayside. Excellence in research will be demonstrable through the highest quality publications supported by appropriate research funding.


In addition to leading a strong program of research, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research-led teaching in the School. This might include module leadership and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.


Principle duties and responsibilities:


Contribute to the research activities of Medicine at the highest level (REF 3-4* quality) - publish in high quality research


journals and present work at major international conferences.


Be vigilant for appropriate opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange with other academic or industrial partners.


Support the full economic cost of research by generating appropriate grant income and/or industrial funding.


Supervise research, masters, and undergraduate students.
