Test and Inspection Electrician

Across our key sectors – Water, Power, Energy and Aggregates, and supported through our regional office network supported by our manufacturing hub located in the heart of Somerset which forms part of our 60,000ft head office complex – we deliver diverse and interesting projects and programmes throughout UK infrastructure.
Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.
The Role
- Contracted to 40hrs per week on site hours Monday to Friday. Paid hourly, with overtime paid door to door.
- Overtime during the weekends paid at inflated rate.
- Company van provided with this role.
This will be an additional test resource required for upcoming Wessex Water inspection and testing work.
Responsibilities
- To be responsible for completing electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards
- Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to
- Ensure that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project’s quality plan and inspection and test plans
- To follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and to be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise
- To coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices
- Promote and demonstrate the Bridges’ values when dealing with peers, staff, customers and clients
- Promote positive health and wellbeing amongst their peers
- To act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges, supporting the business goals and maintaining the company’s positive reputation
Requirements
Required
- Experience as an approved electrician.
- ECS Gold Card.
- Test & Inspection level 3 certificate.
- Fitness to work medical.
- Trade relevant H&S.
- Full UK driving license.
Desirable
- Experience within water / industrial / commercial industries
- PASMA / EUSR / IPAF
- Confined space certificate.
- Emergency first aid or first aider.
