SEMH Support Assistant – Huntingdon

If you have experience supporting pupils with SEN in a professional environment and are looking for a rewarding position in Primary Education then we may have something that is just right for you.

We are looking for a teaching assistant to support a KS2 pupil with SEMH at a local primary school based in Huntingdon. The pupil requires additional 1:1 support to manage their behavioural difficulties and keep them on track with tasks set by the teacher.

Please note, you do not need a TA qualification to apply for this role.

Ideal applicants to support pupils as a 1:1 support assistant are those with:

  • Extensive experience supporting those with SEMH/Behavioural difficulties
  • Background in care
  • Safeguarding Training
  • A drive to help others
  • Experience working within a school environment supporting KS1/KS2 pupils
  • Teaching Assistant Experience – Primary/Secondary/SEN

The role is fulltime, working on a 1:1 basis and is expected to last until the end of the academic year. In your role, you will be expected to monitor and assess the progress of pupil and assist in their progression through learning. You will also need to offer general support and aid in the overall running of the class alongside the class teacher.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
