The Role/Profile
The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Finance Systems Manager and Lead Developer for Oracle EPM, co-ordinating together effectively with the Finance Transformation Lead to develop and execute the overall Ocado Retail Finance Systems Roadmap.

The Finance Systems and Data Manager, Oracle Cloud ERP is the operational link between the finance leadership team, key users, IT, Oracle and the technical support function.

The successful candidate will contribute to the ERP strategy ensuring the system remains business focussed, is fit for purpose and supports the overall future business strategy of Ocado Retail. The role works in collaboration with business leads to influence the support and development of business processes and the prioritisation of resulting improvement activity through the change management process.

You will manage the work of the Oracle Cloud support team, monitoring activities and ensuring that tasks and information requests are completed to the required standard and in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.

The role holder will have a good understanding of business processes with a background in business operations, be an expert in this specialist field and will use their knowledge to evaluate, influence and interpret business needs, develop Oracle Financials strategy and deliver innovative and cost effective solutions.

Ocado Retail are currently embarking on a finance transformation programme, which will involve a reimplementation of Oracle Cloud ERP [Fusion] for Financials and Procurement. Oracle Cloud ERP was implemented in Summer 2023 and as such the reimplementation will not be a complex one and the reason for the change is that the financial calendar needs to be changed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Ocado Retail Oracle Cloud ERP reimplementation over the course of the next 12 months, working with the chosen service implementation (SI) partner and supported by the Finance Transformation team.

Key Responsibilities

Full ownership, accountability and responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of the Oracle Cloud suite, inclusive of ERP, Oracle cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Oracle Guided Learning. Responsible for leading and having full oversight for both technical and functional aspects of the Ocado Retail Oracle Cloud ERP reimplementation over the course of the next 12 months, working with the chosen service implementation (SI) partner and supported by the Finance Transformation team. Deliver the Oracle Cloud ERP roadmap in conjunction with the Finance Transformation team, including the potential implementation of Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting modules alongside executing on the existing list of initiatives identified as part of the Fusion implementation in 2023. Lead the Oracle support team, currently consisting of one functional analyst, one technical analyst and one short-term FTC integrations developer. Provide support and guidance to the team as needed and ensure that their skill set is developed to meet changing business needs. Own relationships with stakeholders for each of the upstream and downstream systems (EDW, Ocado Smart Platform [OSP], OpenText, EDI providers, banks, etc.). Provide SME support for everything relating to Finance systems, data integrations and data flows across the organisation. Proactively identify continuous system-enabled process improvement initiatives, in conjunction with the Finance Transformation team. Take ownership for delivering on these initiatives, inclusive of scoping, resource planning and re-prioritising workload. Build reports and dashboards using OTBI and BI Publisher to support business requirements. Contribute and influence development of Oracle data policy, defining ownership within the business and if requested support the business to manage and maintain data. Development and implementation of simple, effective, efficient and standardised processes across business areas to improve cost effectiveness. Monitor business compliance with processes and escalate issues with the business process owners. Propose change to and of introduction of new system controls where appropriate. Advise stakeholders on Access Policy, include prerequisites e.g. training, approvals, legislation/data protection, segregation of duties and auditable processes. Support end users on request and provide advice on best use of the system, ensure high levels of end user satisfaction. Support business activities, resolving user incidents and service requests. Manage developer and technical inputs as required, coordinating between functional and technical areas. Manage user support through the IT Service Desk. Develop training strategy, best practices and user guides working with the business. Support during audits, data extract/uploads and business close processes. Ensure the Oracle support team has up to date system documentation and also an agreed set of scenarios and related test scripts and data for UAT and regression tests. Licence management. Manage change request process, leading the impact assessment and costing change requests.
Key skills In depth working knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP (Financials and Procurement), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Oracle Guided Learning Good working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL Experience working with OTBI and BI Publisher to create reports and dashboards. Takes a hands-on approach to problem solving. It’s critical that the successful candidate is comfortable, willing and able to get under the hood of the systems and deliver independently as well as through others. Experience of managing a team and third party IT support providers. Extensive ERP experience operating at a senior level within a large retailer. Understanding of online retail business and processes and what is possible with ERP solutions. Experience of working within a large, fast paced, complex, customer focussed environment. Proven record of communicating and influencing across a range of audiences internally and externally. Can demonstrate where they have created value with ERP systems. Strong background in management of an ERP solution and experience of delivering a continuous improvement agenda. Good customer service skillset, going above and beyond the call of duty where necessary. Committed team player who is able to manage vertically and horizontally. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and influencing skills.
