Job summary

The East Midlands Imaging Network (EMRAD) are looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Radiographer to join its leadership team as the EMRAD Lead Radiographer. This is an exciting opportunity as this is a newly established post created to strengthen the clinical leadership in the EMRAD team and to work closely with all network Trusts Imaging Teams including Imaging Senior teams, Advanced Practitioners and Consultant Medical staff across the East Midlands.

The post holder will be a credible and visible role model, both managerially and professionally, promoting and delivering quality clinical standards within Imaging across the East Midlands. They will bring dedication and energy to improving patient experience, staff satisfaction, clinical pathways and performance standards, through effective communication with patients, staff and stakeholders. They will support the delivery of high quality imaging services to the people of the East Midlands by ensuring excellence in standards across radiography and related services.

Main duties of the job

To work with the member Trusts to promote standardisation of clinical protocols across EMRAD.

2. To support adherence to and the continued accreditation with Quality Standards in Imaging (QSI) across all of the EMRAD Trusts.

To advise the EMRAD Quality and Safety Improvement Group from a radiographic perspective

To promote and facilitate the delivery of region-wide training and peer support where providers identify service benefits to collaborative working.

Lead by example and demonstrate a high standard of personal work ethics, empathy and managerial ability in all duties undertaken through active participation.

Identify and progress opportunities for radiology staff to be innovative and creative, encouraging them to access scholarships, visits and other development opportunities with a research focus

Drive the development of research focusing on Artificail Intelligence and Machine Learning in Radiology services across the Imaging network and support the involvement and development of all allied health professions.

To work with the EMRAD Network Director to source, complete grant applications and subsequent coordination of grant funding and budget delivery. Liase with National Training providers eg Health Education England (HEE) for national training budget updates and disseminate within the Imaging Network.

Job responsibilities

In conjunction with all Radiology staff across EMRAD, they will advise and co-ordinate future developments of services and standard ways of working across EMRAD, initiating and managing agreed changes. Act as a visible leader and a point of contact for radiographers, other staff employed within imaging services andother Allied Health Professionals, across EMRAD. Work with regional and national teams to provide a diverse viewpoint for imaging services working in an Imaging Network. Todevelop and maintain effective relationships at all levels within the organisation and with other relevant external partners NHS England, SoR Contribute to the development of guidelines and policies for the modality in collaboration with Clinical Leads and the wider teams across EMRAD. Support the cross organisation relationships which support the delivery of high quality imaging services. This will include cross site support for fragile services, education in areas of role development including advanced practice and cross site reporting. To provide operational management and strategic direction supporting transformation across EMRAD from a radiographic persective Promote the continuous quality improvement of service delivery and professional standards within each modality, using modern methods in the delivery of service and workforce transformation and re-design. To advise the learning and Development Council from a radiographic perspective but also provide the link between the Radiology Departments across EMRAD To direct the improvement and encouragement of best clinical practice and to implement improved ways of working with modality staff and other key stakeholders across EMRAD including liaising with Patient reps for advice and suggestions for improvement.

10. Liaising with Trust IR(ME)R leafs to ensure consistency in the application of radiation exposure regulationsacross EMRAD in collaboration with Trusts RPA.
