Job summary

Head of Service, Integrated Care

Following a period of organisational change the Operations Directorate is configuring to both build on our foundations of success and to meet the Trust's long-term ambitions. A new structure is rolling out across the service and now is an exciting time to join and help create a stable and effective leadership and management team for this service area.

If you have senior experience in an emergency service, health care contact centre or control room environment, this role could be right for you.

Over the last decade the service has transformed considerably and continues to have ambitious plans for the future. If you feel that you help us further develop and refine the service to help meet health needs of the public in Wales, have the experience, knowledge, and skills for this exciting position and want to be part of something special as we develop #TeamWAST, we would love to hear from you.

Person Specification

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

Masters level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience working at a senior level in a service delivery environment. Leadership and/or Management Qualification Level 5 or equivalent Current Silver/Tactical Commander qualification. Required to successfully complete the Gold/Strategic qualification post-appointment. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

Registered Nurse or Paramedic.

Experience

Essential

Senior Management experience in an operational emergency service/healthcare delivery environment. Senior management experience in remote clinical decision making healthcare delivery, with a focus on emergency and/or urgent care. Experience of working in partnership with trade unions/other partners with an understanding of the principles of partnership working Strong evidence of working across sectors/inter-agency. Experience implementing service improvement plans to include financial and resource accountability. Experience in workforce planning. Proven ability to translate strategy and plans in operational activity.

Desirable

Contact centre management experience.

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential

Awareness and understanding of the Trust's purpose and values and of the key objectives set out in the IMTP. Proven track record in delivering operational and cultural change.

Desirable

Ability to speak Welsh.
