Job Purpose


We are seeking a condition monitoring engineer to join our Engineering Support team at Newark factory as Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Engineer.

The primary role of the CBM Engineer is to lead the application and use of condition monitoring techniques and strategies to improve the knowledge of equipment condition across the site. Using this information your role will be to better inform our maintenance schedules to improve overall equipment effectiveness.


Core Accountabilities

Responsible for the selection and use of different condition monitoring techniques based on best practice and liaison with engineering subject matter experts. Site subject matter expert for condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thickness testing, thermography, oil analysis and ultrasonic thickness testing. Translates CBM outputs to tangible plans to improve equipment reliability. Manage vibration analysis on site including carrying out VA routes, or managing others doing so, and interpretation of results. Responsible for lubrication on site and managing the lubrication technician. Develop and review condition monitoring routes and routines. Provide training to maintenance technicians in all applicable condition monitoring techniques.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of condition monitoring techniques and communicate effectively. Always demonstrate the highest personal health and safety standards and work effectively with other team members to carry out the tasks safely and effectively.

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies 

Your background is likely to be as a mechanically biased engineer or technician; and be either apprentice or equivalent experience. You will be a minimum of CAT-I trained in Vibration Analysis. CAT-II is desirable, or you will have significant equivalent experience. Experience of working with heavy industrial equipment in a complex manufacturing environment.  Proven experience of coordinating proactive maintenance work processes.  Experience of delivering condition-based monitoring activities across multiple work areas at operational and non-operational times. • A proven ability to manage complex and conflicting requirements in an industrial environment. • Ability to build strong professional relationships and influence the delivery of standards and actions through others.
