Job summary

We arelooking for an enthusiastic, committed psychologist to join the Worcestershire MentalHealth Liaison team, as part of the Acute Psychology team, for a fixed term pilotover 12 months. This fulltime post is part of a pilot to introduce psychologywithing liaison service. Psychology is highly valued, both for complex casework and staff support and team cohesion and all parts of the Acute Pathway arecurrently in the process of development and improvement, with a key focus ontrauma informed care and compassionate leadership. This role provides anexcellent opportunity to contribute to trust improvements by demonstrating theworth of psychology within MH liaison. Regular clinical and managerialsupervision will be available, and CPD is supported as an essential part of therole. Flexible working is supported.

Main duties of the job

Highly specialist assessments leading to thedevelopment of psychological formulations, and interventions including groupwork. Complex case consultation, reflective practiceand supervision to other psychological practitioners and multi-disciplinaryteams. You will help to create and sustain moreco-produced psychologically and trauma informed environments across out acutepathway. You will be actively supported to developservice initiatives in line with key national and local priorities. You will be a valued member of our highlyrespected psychological service working in an empowering and compassionate teamto connect with your own values and personal and professional developmentpriorities. We have close connections with the Coventry& Warwick Clinical Psychology Training course and regularly host traineeplacements.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will:

Behave consistently with and promotethe values and beliefs of the organisation Use their initiative, beresponsible and accountable for providing a systematic psychology service,specialist psychological interventions, clinical and research supervision andtraining to other health and care staff as agreed with the servicelead/manager. Work with managers and teamleaders to develop services and improve quality in consultation with the servicelead. Participate in national andregional professional speciality meetings and seminars as appropriate Meet and maintain targets withinthe adult mental health service Evaluate referrals, undertakethe assessment, treatment and management of patients with psychologicaldifficulties with a varying range of complexity and aetiology with reference toclinical need and service capacity.

Experience required specific to the role and clinical area A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist within the relevant area Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology as a suitably qualified psychologist to offer clinical placements to trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologists Training and experience in the application of psychological knowledge within a number of different specialties Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations Experience of conducting clinically relevant research

Qualifications

Essential

BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in psychology Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) Post qualification training in specific, evidence based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the BPS Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS Eligible for registration as a Practitioner member of the BPS Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
