Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Enhanced Care Services (ECS) team as an Event Operations Manager. With ongoing and sustained growth and development of our event portfolio, ECS is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic manager to help us achieve the next level of growth and continue our drive to raise the standards of event medical cover across the industry.

Main duties of the job

As an Event Operations Manager you will have the responsibility of overseeing the planning of all event medical provision across ECS, ensuring budgets are maintained and high quality cover is delivered. You will be communicating with organisers from a range of events such as motosports, mass participation and festivals, ensuring that we meet their needs to provide a safe and appropriate level of medical care. You will be a vital part for our medical teams, made up of experienced healthcare professionals such as Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics and First Responders. Please note that specific training around the aspects of event medical delivery pertinent to this role will be provided.

You'll be a confident, organised and customer focused individual with excellent written, verbal and communication skills. A professional and enthusiastic attitude is a must, with a passion for high standards. Having the right team of people working as part of our operation is crucial to its success and as no two days are the same, a flexible and proactive approach is key.

This role is for 30 hours a week.

About us

Founded in 2015 by two Emergency Medicine Doctors, Enhanced Care Services has developed into a well regarded, clinically led organisation with high standards and a clear focus on doing it right. Having initially delivered enhanced and critical care to a range of events, ECS now provides medical cover to a wide variety of events each year, whilst also operating a range of NHS support including frontline ambulance provision and a broad variety of education courses.

Job responsibilities

As an Event Operations Manager you will have a varied role, including (but not limited to):

Lead the planning of event medical and first aid cover whilst ensuring compliance with national standards, internal policies and event legal requirements.

Lead the event workforce, providing engagement and leadership across our event operational team.

Ensure that costs, budgets and finances for events are managed effectively with a focus on minimising unnecessary expenditure.

Work closely with our operations coordinators and wider operations team members to ensure capacity plans are in place and our activity does not exceed capacity.

Drive the implementation of the ECS Strategic Business Plan in relation to event activity

Engage with current and potential clients to provide a focus on customer service and ensuring their event receives a high quality service beginning to end.

Qualifications

Essential

Hold a full UK Driving License with no more than 3 penalty points

Desirable

Educational qualifications in event management or planning

Aptitudes and Attributes

Essential

Excellent team working and interpersonal skills. Great communication skills with team members and clients. Experience in building and leading teams. Willingness to learn and develop. Flexibility with tasks and roles to be undertaken. Passionate about doing things right. Able to prioritise workload and use own initiative. A keenness to support the operational delivery by attending Safety Advisory Group meetings, site visits and events.

Experience

Essential

Minimum of 2 years operational leadership experience in either a healthcare or event setting. Experience of the event sector and event planning. Knowledge of event industry best practice/compliance/regulatory requirements. Experience of managing budgets and implementing cost control measures to enable successful achievement of forecasted business performance. Excellent level of literacy, with experience of using IT systems including word, powerpoint and excel.

Desirable

Experience of healthcare operational leadership, for example in an EPRR, control or operational capacity.
