Construction Manager

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced construction manager to be engaged on a Permanent basis, in Reading .
The Construction Manager will be responsible for the organization, direction, supervision, and coordination of construction activities on a project site as delineated in the applicable procedures and Site Specific Safety Plan.
As Construction manager you will:
- Be responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records.
- Work with the various Engineering design teams to support the development of Construction Sequencing and Deliverability together with the development of the initial Construction Management Plan.
- Support relevant interfaces with key stakeholders including client SME's / IC's and supply chain members.
- Implement the construction portion of the assigned project through day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities.
- Ensure timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.
- Act as the primary customer contact for all construction project field activities.
- Ensure all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements, and is built to quality standards.
- Function as a Project Manager on a direct-hire construction-only project or as the field manager on an engineering/ procurement/construction management project.
- Report to the Project Manager and Project Director.
- Be responsible for managing this major and complex construction project.
- Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard construction techniques.
Requirements:
- Ideally Degree Qualified or HNC in Construction or Engineering discipline
- NVQ Level 6 Diploma- Construction Site Management
- Understanding / Experience & Implementation of CDM 2015 roles and in particular the role of Principle Contractor
- Have a recognised safety qualification; preferably NEBOSH Construction / General or similar
- Proven knowledge of Site Construction / Decommissioning activities and Radioactive Waste Management
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment
- Hold a CSCS card for the position
