Pipeline Technology Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Under pressure drilling and pipeline equipment supplying the Gas & Water Industries in the UK and export to 105 countries worldwide.

We have a vacancy for a Procurement Specialist to join the team at our offices in Fareham. We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated, and experienced individual who will be working within a small but dynamic team.

The successful applicant must have very good purchase management experience ideally within a business that deals with mechanical components and subcontractor machine shops. Knowledge of a range of manufacturing techniques is preferable but not essential including Turning, Milling, Pipe & Sheet Fabrication, and welding. 

The applicant will have demonstrable experience in purchase management, bills of materials creation, and cost control.

The applicant must have demonstrable experience in a previous purchase management role.

Day-to-day duties

The ideal candidate must have previous relevant experience and will have a versatile and adaptable skill set 

The candidate will be expected to:

• Assist and coordinate the production team with builds, supplier management, workshop management and stock control.
• Place purchase orders with both UK and International Suppliers
• Maintain and manage stock levels including lead times, availability, and cost control.
•  Identify and improve existing business processes to drive innovation and operational efficiencies.
• Review supply chain management to ensure the business can remain competitive in the manufacturing sector.
•  Be experience with ISO9001 controls to ensure manufactured goods are produced correctly and to specification.

Essential Skills

• Assisting the production director in the selection of suppliers and machine shop subcontractors
• Have experience with Sage 200c and Sicon Works Order Processing
• Have experience with working with sub-contract engineering companies.
• Have experience of collaborating with or working with research and development teams
• Experience of working with Sales and Manufacturing Teams
• Have demonstrable experience with purchase management
• Stock Management
• IT literate with a solid understanding of MS Office Applications
• Will have a “Can Do” attitude be self-motivated and a self-starter.

Desirable skills

• Creation & management of UK and International Call-Off Orders
• Provision of Support to Design / R&D Department
•  Ownership and Control of Procurement and Manufacturing Processes
• Experience of managing an ISO9000 accredited organisation
