Job summary
This is an exciting time to join the Cardiology Department at HDFT. We are a highly skilled and innovative multi-disciplinary team and this appointment will ensure that we can continue to deliver high quality patient care as well as help drive forward service developments. Our friendly, well-established team consists of Consultants, Specialist nurses, Cardiac rehab nurses, Speciality Doctor, Cardio/Respiratory Physiologists, Heart Failure Nurses and a Lead Cardiology Nurse. We have a new Philips cath lab undertaking diagnostic angiography and pacemaker implantation. Future planning within Imaging Services includes Cardiac CT which will be developed over the next 2-3 years.
There are excellent opportunities for the post holder to develop new or existing services according to their clinical interests.
Flexible/ Part time working will be considered with opportunities (by negotiation) to undertake sessions at other organisations to maintain or develop skills.
Main duties of the job
Together with the other consultant cardiologist you will provide an inpatient and outpatient Cardiology service. This includes all aspects of non-elective and outpatient treatment and related management duties To conduct all activities within the contracted level of service and operating plan for Cardiology services To support service development within the cardiology service
About us
We are well positioned within the wider local cardiology network and work closely with Leeds, South Tees and Mid York's We also have regular visiting consultants from Leeds teaching hospitals for satellite arrhythmia clinics.
Our patients have access to a recently redeveloped and extended cardio respiratory department, new clinic rooms and new equipment including state of the art echo equipment with 3-D and strain imaging capability. In January 2021 a new Philips Cath lab was commissioned delivering diagnostic angiography and Brady pacemaker implantation.

Entry on GMC Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of CCT at the time of interview BSE accreditation (if applying as echo specialist or equivalent higher qualification in echocardiography) ALS
Desirable
Completed Fellowship Programme BSCI/SCCT level 2/3 accreditation in CT
Experience
Essential
Able to meet the demands of the proposed job plan Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients
