EARTHING & BONDING ENGINEER – PRINCIPAL / TECHNICAL DIRECTOR LEVEL

Position Overview:  

We are looking for highly skilled and experienced Earthing & Bonding Engineers to join our UK team. Working at Principal or Technical Director level you will provide crucial support to our Australian business and be at the forefront of delivering critical earthing, bonding, and related projects from concept through to construction and commissioning. This is an exciting role where you’ll be entrusted with diverse responsibilities, ensuring that each project is executed with precision and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Cross-Regional Collaboration:  Work closely with our Australian business, ensuring seamless project execution under our global service delivery model. Project Delivery: Spearhead earthing and bonding projects, guiding them from initial concept to successful construction and commissioning. Design Excellence: Prepare and review detailed design drawings, technical reports, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other critical project deliverables. Client Collaboration: Engage directly with client-side engineers to conduct design reviews, resolve technical issues, and provide regular design progress updates. Leadership & Development: Lead and inspire teams delivering high-impact projects, fostering excellence in all aspects of system design and engineering. Proposal Management: Lead the estimation and preparation of project tenders and proposals, focusing on the electrical scope. Cross-Office Collaboration: Network with other GHD offices to collaboratively deliver exceptional results on multi-office projects. Site Engagement: Conduct site inspections and prepare comprehensive reports to support proposals, design delivery, and construction phases. Client Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both external and internal clients, ensuring long-term partnerships.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it). A minimum of 7 years of experience in LV, HV, and Earthing & Bonding detailed design, including all aspects of documentation. A thorough understanding of the project development lifecycle, enabling you to manage complex projects efficiently. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and effectively. A collaborative mindset, willing to share knowledge and support colleagues while also thriving in an independent, self-managed role. Proven ability in preparing and leading successful proposals and marketing pursuits, demonstrating sound judgment and decisiveness. Proactive and analytical, with a keen eye for problem-solving and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions. Exceptional time management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks across multiple projects and delivering on time and within budget. A proven track record in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients and team members alike.
