JobDescription:

  • VSP isseeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team and play a crucialrole in the Data Migration project for the Law EnforcementAdministration Management System (LEAMS) with the Virginia StatePolice. As a Data Analyst you will be responsible for assessingcomplex data systems and programs supporting adhoc and standingmanagement or customer requests related to datamigration.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand data needsand objectives.
  • Extract clean and transformdata from diverse sources for analysis.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends patterns andanomalies.
  • Examine data quality applicationsand functions to ensure accurate migration.
  • Produce output and sustain operation of data migrationprocesses.
  • Research new data sources andanalytical tools for improved migration strategies.
  • Contribute to new product development and enhancements indata delivery and presentation.
  • Interpret dataanalyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoingreports.
  • Identify analyze and interpret trendsor patterns in complex data sets.
  • Generatevisualizations and reports for stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement databases data collection systemsdata analytics and other strategies that optimize statisticalefficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data fromprimary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/datasystems.
  • Collaborate with the LEAMS team toperform a proper audit of active files during themigration.
  • Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or relatedrole.
  • Technical expertise regarding datamodels database design data mining and segmentationtechniques.
  • Strong knowledge of and experiencewith reporting packages and databases (SQL etc.).
  • Proficient in programming languages (Python R etc.) is aplus.
  • Strong analytical skills with theability to collect organize analyze and disseminate significantamounts of information with attention to detail andaccuracy.
  • Adept at queries report writing andpresenting findings.
  • Strong knowledge inMicrosoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelorsdegree in a relevant field (e.g. Data Science Statistics ComputerScience).
