Job summary

We are looking for a positive, driven, experienced and enthusiastic MRI Radiographer's who are willing to develop and contribute to providing a high quality, efficient and effective service within the imaging department. With responsibility for the day-to-day running of MRI lists, quality management of equipment and images, and administrative duties as required to maintain an efficient service. The post-holder should possess a BSc/DCR in Radiography, or equivalent and be a HCPC state-registered Radiographer.

You will be expected to promote the highest levels of quality healthcare as part of the multidisciplinary team and maintain a high professional and technical standard through personal Continuing Professional Development. You will also be responsible in managing the workflow and ensuring all data input is recorded accurately for both patient record integrity and statistical evaluation purposes.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Main duties of the job

To perform a range of general and specialised examinations in MRI, maintaining the highest professional and technical standards, whilst promoting high professional and ethical standards of clinical practice to ensure that all aspects of clinical governance are fulfilled. To promote the highest quality healthcare as part of the multidisciplinary team and maintain a high professional and technical standard through personal Continuing Professional Development. To manage the workflow and ensure all data input is recorded accurately for both patient record integrity and statistical evaluation purposes.

MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES:

To exercise the highest standard of patient careand actively improve the patient experience.

To assist in the training of current MRIradiographers and provide support to other staff who a required in theatres orx-ray rooms.

Performing pre-examination safety andidentification checks with patients and staff.

Perform examinations either in person or as partof the team, maintaining high professional standards and supporting andmonitoring the quality standards of the directorate.

To demonstrate a specialist skill in adaptingtechnique to achieve high quality diagnostic products in patients whosecondition would otherwise prevent this, without compromising care, thisinvolves frequent dealing with patients who are in pain and distress.

To provide a safe environment for both staff,patients and visitors, complying with current legislation relating to all aspectsof health and safety, reporting any untoward incidents and having involvementin risk assessments, and incident reporting.

To ensure that any faults are recorded andreported to the Imaging Lead. To liaise with engineers as required.

To ensure equipment quality assurance is carriedout as required.

GENERALRESPONSIBILITIES:

To ensure that all information of a confidentialnature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.

To notify the Imaging Lead or ExecutiveDirector, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty.

To adhere to all Company policies and procedureswithin the defined timescales.

To complete and adhere to all Mandatory Trainingrequirements including the management of health and safety, risk management andadverse incidents.

To maintain a professional appearance and mannerat all times.

Partake in the appraisal scheme and to ensurethat objectives are supported and met within available resources.

To maintain accurate departmental records andensure conformance to the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and Code ofConduct to ensure that appropriate security measures are in operation at alltimes.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

Minimum 2 years post registration experience. Excellent radiographic knowledge and recent plain film experience. Ability to deliver excellent patient care. Ability to perform MRI examinations and be willing to further train.

Desirable

Experience in performing DXA examinations. IV Cannulation certification.

Qualifications

Essential

BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent. Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered. Maintains a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Portfolio.

Desirable

Existing RPS training qualifications.
